New Delhi, Dec 28: The Supreme Court is likely to hear the petition filed against the Jharkhand High Court’s order for a CBI probe into coal theft in Dhanbad and alleged police involvement in it on 3 January, 2025.

According to the Supreme Court’s website, the case has been listed before a bench headed by Justice Sandeep Mehta. So far, the CBI has submitted its response in this matter.

The first hearing of this case in the Supreme Court was held on October 18. On that day, the apex court had stayed the order of the Jharkhand High Court, which had directed a CBI inquiry into coal theft in Dhanbad and police involvement in it.
