New Delhi, Sept 29: Shirish Chandra Murmu, who is presently serving as Executive Director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has been named the new Deputy Governor of the RBI for a tenure of three years.
His appointment received the nod from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, according to official sources on Monday.

Murmu will succeed Rajeshwar Rao, who is currently serving as Deputy Governor in charge of banking regulation and other departments. Rao’s tenure is set to end on October 8.
