New Delhi, April 30: On Wednesday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear a plea challenging the Delhi High Court’s decision that instructed the Consortium of National Law Universities to revise and republish the mark sheets for the CLAT UG-2025 exam within four weeks.

The bench, comprising Justice B R Gavai and Justice Augustine George Masih, issued notices to the consortium and other involved parties, seeking responses within a week. The case will be heard again after a week.

The CLAT UG-2025, held on December 1, 2024, and the results declared on December 7, sparked multiple petitions across various high courts, accusing the exam of containing incorrect questions. The Supreme Court had transferred all related petitions to the Delhi High Court on February 6 for uniform handling.

In its order dated April 23, the Delhi High Court accepted some of the objections raised by the candidates while dismissing others.

The court directed the consortium to revise the mark sheets and republish the final list of selected candidates, including an evaluation of the exam responses for all affected students, particularly those who had attempted the disputed questions. The evaluation should extend to all candidates who could benefit from the changes based on the court’s analysis.

A single-judge bench of the Delhi High Court had earlier, on December 20, 2024, ordered a revision of the results due to identified discrepancies. The matter escalated as the Consortium and the petitioners both challenged different parts of the single-judge ruling.

Meanwhile, the high court has yet to hear the appeals regarding the CLAT PG-2025 exam questions, which are also under dispute.
