Jamshedpur, June 25: Police have stepped up their investigation into the theft of gold jewellery worth several lakhs from the residence of former Jharkhand minister Dulal Bhuiyan in Sitaramdera, registering a named FIR against the household servant and his relative.
According to the complaint lodged at Sitaramdera police station, Ramu Kumar, who worked at Bhuiyan’s residence, has been named as the prime accused. The FIR also names Rajni Mallik, Ramu’s relative, who allegedly helped him secure the job at the former minister’s house.

Police launch raids to trace accused
Police sources said suspicion intensified after Ramu allegedly went missing soon after the theft was discovered.
Investigators are examining the roles of both accused and probing all possible angles in the case. Raids are being carried out at suspected hideouts, while the accused persons’ movements and contacts are also under scrutiny.
Officials said efforts are on to arrest the accused and recover the stolen jewellery at the earliest.
The high-profile theft has attracted considerable attention in the city, with police expressing confidence that the investigation will soon yield significant breakthroughs.
