The three elected Independents, Ashish Sharma, Hoshiyar Singh and KL Thakur, who resigned on Friday, also became members of the BJP.
The former legislators attacked the state’s Congress administration, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, claiming that since taking office, development efforts had stagnated.
Anurag Thakur welcomed the former legislators into the party and stated that their presence would bolster the BJP. He also accused the state’s Congress government of not keeping its word, which has infuriated the public on many fronts.
Anurag Thakur mentioned that six of the former legislators, despite their affiliation with the Congress, sided with the BJP in the recent Rajya Sabha election to represent the public anger towards the Sukhu government.
