Jamshedpur, Dec 15: The Ghatshila-based Sona Devi University is set to organise a mega blood donation camp on December 22, Monday.

In preparation for the event, the university’s National Service Scheme (NSS) unit has been actively conducting awareness programmes to encourage public participation and highlight the importance of voluntary blood donation.

As part of these outreach efforts, NSS volunteers organised a special awareness programme at Kitadih village, where villagers were sensitised on themes such as “Why Blood Donation is Essential” and “Blood Donation is the Greatest Donation.”

The volunteers explained that blood donation not only helps save the lives of patients in need but also represents a vital humanitarian responsibility towards society.
Messages related to health, service and social responsibility were conveyed in simple and accessible language.
The awareness programme was conducted under the leadership of NSS Programme Officer Dr. Shivchand Jha and Patrari Mali.

While guiding the volunteers, both officers appealed to villagers to participate in large numbers in the upcoming blood donation camp and help transform the initiative into a mass movement.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers and a positive response from the local community.
