Jamshedpur, Sept 11: Soumitra Majumdar took over the charge of additional General Manager, South Eastern Railway, Kolkata.
Four railway divisions – Ranchi, Chakradharpur, Kharagpur and Adra fall under the South Eastern Railway.
Prior to taking over the charge of additional General Manager of South Eastern Railway, Majumdar was the principal chief commercial manager of Eastern Railway.

Who is Soumitra Majumdar?
Soumitra Majumdar is an officer of the Indian Railways Traffic Service, 1989 Exam Batch.
He has worked in various posts and in different capacities i.e. Chief Public Relations Officer, Eastern Railway and South Eastern Railway, Chief Passenger Transportation Manager and Chief Traffic Planning Manager, South Eastern Railway.
Majumdar has vast knowledge and working experience in railway operations and commercial issues as well as public relations and media management of railways.
He has a keen interest in sports, music, travel and social welfare activities.
