Jamshedpur, May 8: South Eastern Railway (SER) has loaded 17.07 Million Tonnes of originating freight in the month of April, as against 16.64 Million Tonnes loaded in April 2023, registering a growth of 2.52 %.
The railway zone achieved record freight loading of 211.60 Million tonnes in the last financial year (i.e. 2023-24) and this increasing trend has also continued in the first month of the current fiscal.
There has also been an increase of 5.47% in originating freight revenue in April 2024 in comparison to April 2023.

In April 2024, the revenue generation from originating freight loading has been Rs 1547.73 crore as against Rs. 1467.45 crore in the same month of the previous year.
SER has loaded 4.38 Million Tonnes of Coal in April 2024, which is 5.80% more than the corresponding month of last fiscal.
Other major commodities of freight loading during April 2024 were iron ore, Pig Iron & finished steel, cement, food grains, fertilizers etc.
