New Delhi, Dec 10: SpiceJet is preparing a significant capacity boost for the ongoing winter schedule, planning to introduce up to 100 additional daily flights as the airline looks to stabilise the aviation market amid IndiGo’s operational disruptions.

The carrier said rising passenger demand on major routes this season has prompted the expansion, which will proceed after necessary regulatory clearances.

To support the increase, SpiceJet has already brought 17 aircraft back into service over the past two months through a mix of damp-leased planes and the reinstatement of its own grounded fleet.

This expanded availability allows the airline to add capacity on busy routes, improve network reliability, and optimise aircraft utilisation.
SpiceJet noted that it intends to induct more planes during the current schedule to strengthen connectivity through better planning and operational flexibility.
