Daltonganj, March 9: The state chief of Sri Ram Sena, Pankaj Jaiswal, on Monday felicitated the newly elected chief of the Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal, Mangal Singh, and its general secretary Lali Ji in Daltonganj.

With Ram Navami celebrations in Daltonganj approaching, preparations have already begun to make the festival a grand and vibrant affair. The Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal plays a key role in organising the celebrations every year.

Mangal Singh’s return to local socio-political scene

Before becoming chief of the Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal, Mangal Singh had served as Deputy Mayor of the Medininagar Municipal Corporation. His appointment as chief and his immediate involvement in the Ram Navmi preparations are being seen as his return to the socio-political landscape of Daltonganj.

There is noticeable enthusiasm among supporters following the recent municipal corporation election, in which his wife contested the mayoral post.

The Ram Navami festival in Daltonganj has long been known for its scale and enthusiasm. Every year, thousands of men, women and children take part in the celebrations, with elaborately decorated raths (chariots) adding colour and grandeur to the procession.
