Daltonganj, Nov 23: A grand gala science exhibition was organised by the students of St Mariam’s Plus-2 School in Daltonganj on Sunday.

The event was inaugurated by Dr Prof. Dinesh Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellor of Nilamber-Pitamber University, in the presence of IG of Police Shailendra Kumar Sinha, Civil Surgeon Dr Anil Kumar Sriwastwa, School Chairman Avinash Dev, and others.

This was the first time the school’s annual science exhibition was held outside the campus, taking place instead in a cosy hotel in town.

Chairman Avinash Dev told The Jharkhand Story Network, “We have organised this science exhibition in the lobby of a hotel very close to our school. It is a departure from the usual venue. It exposes our students to a new environment.”

Students Present Innovative Models in a New Off-Campus Venue

The exhibition drew a large crowd, with students presenting innovative ideas and models that impressed visitors throughout the day. Many displays reflected the scientific curiosity and creativity emerging among the students.

Vice Chancellor Dr Dinesh Kumar Singh said that science cannot be confined to books; it must be incorporated into life. As a long-time advocate of research and innovation, he observed immense potential among the students of St Mariam’s.

IG of Police, Palamu Zone, Shailendra Kumar Sinha, reminded students that science teaches reasoning and the ability to explore new ideas for the betterment of society. Science builds discipline and sensitivity—qualities needed for a safe and progressive community.

Civil Surgeon Dr Anil Kumar Sriwastwa said the exhibition highlighted children’s concern for health, hygiene, and the environment, adding that such awareness is a positive sign for any society.

Sources said that St Mariam’s Plus-2 School organises its events with great enthusiasm, largely driven by Chairman Avinash Dev, who is known for involving students in issues connected with everyday life.

The event was conducted with great elan by Amrit Kaur, with support from a dedicated team of teachers and non-teaching staff.
