Surinder Pal takes charge as new senior deputy general manager of SE Railway

Jamshedpur, August 7:  Surinder Pal took over as the new Senior Deputy General Manager of South Eastern Railway.

He assumed office at Gardenreach, the Kolkata-based headquarters of South Eastern Railway.

Prior to his new posting and taking over the charge, he was Chief Project Manager, Rail Land Development Authority, Chandigarh.

Who is Surinder Pal?

Surinder Pal, IRSE (Indian Railway Service of Engineers) of 1990 Batch joined Indian Railways in March 1992 and after completion of the probation period he was posted on the prestigious project of Jammu-Udhampur Rail Link in the year 1994.

Surinder Pal graduated in civil engineering from NIT, Kurukshetra and did post-graduation in structural engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.

He has served i­n various important posts such as Divisional Engineer, Allahabad (Prayagraj), Deputy Chief Engineer/Bridges, New Delhi, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction), Delhi, Senior Divisional Engineer, Northern Railway, Ambala, Director/Vigilance, Railway Board, Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination), Northern Railway, Ambala, Chief Project Manager, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited, Chief Project Engineer (Construction), Northern Railway, Chief Project Manager, Rail Land Development Authority, Chandigarh.

Surinder Pal has undergone training in prestigious railway institutes like National Academy of Indian Railways, Vadodara; Indian Railways Institute of Civil Engineering, Pune; Indian School of Business, Mohali; INSEAD/ Singapore and ICLIF/Malaysia.

He has vast administrative and technical experience in planning, land acquisition, tendering and execution of New Rail Line Projects, Construction of ROBs, RUBs, LHS, National Project of Jammu-Udhampur Rail Link and construction of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor from Ludhiana to Telheri Bujurg (World Bank Funded Project).

He has travelled extensively and his contribution in various Civil Engineering, Track, high altitude Bridges and Tunnels is noteworthy, vast and varied. He has keen interest in Sports, Railway History and Heritage as well as socio cultural activities.

Notably, South Eastern Railway covers four railway divisions including Ranchi, Chakradharpur, Kharagpur and Adra.
