Tata Agrico becomes India’s first agri-tools brand to earn GreenPro Certification

Jamshedpur, August 19: Tata Agrico, Tata Steel’s oldest brand in the agricultural tools segment, has been awarded the prestigious GreenPro Certification for its range of agricultural implements — becoming the first agricultural tools brand in India to receive this recognition.

The GreenPro Certification, conferred by the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Green Products and Services Council, acknowledges Tata Agrico’s steadfast commitment to promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible products.

The certification was formally presented to Tata Steel at an event held in Chennai on August 13, in the presence of industry leaders, sustainability experts, and CII dignitaries.

Peeyush Gupta, Vice President – TQM, Group Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain, Tata Steel, said: “We are proud to receive CII’s GreenPro Certification for Tata Agrico. The GreenPro Certification is a Type-I eco-label that guides customers in choosing products meeting strict environmental performance standards. Every certified product undergoes a rigorous evaluation process, covering raw material sourcing, manufacturing practices, product durability, recycling potential, and overall environmental impact.

This milestone strengthens Tata Agrico’s leadership in the agri-tools industry by blending sustainability with innovation. Farmers and agri-dealers across India will now have access to tools that are not only durable but also environmentally responsible—empowering India’s transition to sustainable agriculture.
