Tata Motors employee electrocuted while repairing inverter at Jamshedpur home

Jamshedpur, June 25: A Tata Motors employee died after being electrocuted while attempting to repair a faulty inverter at his residence in Gwala Basti under the Telco police station area of Jamshedpur on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Chandrabhan Singh (40), who worked in the ERC Department of Tata Motors.

Inverter blast preceded electric shock

According to family members, Singh returned home after completing his B-shift duty and noticed that the household inverter had developed a technical fault.

While trying to repair the inverter himself, a sudden blast reportedly occurred inside the unit. He suffered a severe electric shock and collapsed.

Family members rushed him to Tata Motors Hospital at around 11.30 pm, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police initiate legal formalities

After receiving information, Telco police reached the hospital and completed the necessary legal formalities.

The body was sent for post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family on Thursday.

The sudden death of the Tata Motors employee has cast a pall of gloom over Gwala Basti, with relatives, neighbours and colleagues mourning the loss of a man remembered as a dedicated employee and family member.
