Jamshedpur, August 6: Tata Steel has unveiled a cutting-edge facility at its Kalinganagar plant, specifically designed to meet the evolving needs of its discerning customers.

Anchored in advanced technology and sustainable practices, the new facility reinforces Tata Steel’s position as a trusted partner in shaping the future of mobility.

Last year, the company successfully commissioned India’s largest blast furnace at Kalinganagar in Odisha.

With a total investment of Rs 27,000 crore, the Phase II expansion has significantly increased the plant’s capacity—from 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 8 MTPA.

An integral part of this expansion is the Continuous Galvanizing Line-1 (CGL-1) within the Cold Rolling Mill, complemented by the addition of other key facilities such as the Pellet Plant and Coke Plant—all equipped with cutting-edge technologies and focused on sustainable operations.

Recognized as one of India’s most advanced integrated steel plants, Tata Steel Kalinganagar manufactures high-quality steel for critical sectors including defence, automotive, infrastructure, engineering, capital goods, oil and gas, renewable energy, and shipbuilding.

“This cutting-edge facility has been developed with a customer-centric and future-ready approach, meeting the rigorous demands of the automotive and appliance industries,” he said.
