Jamshedpur, March 22:  Tata Steel UISL today commemorated World Water Day with a series of impactful initiatives aimed at raising awareness about water conservation and sustainability.

The event featured an expert panel discussion including Industry and sustainability experts from TSL and XLRI and, technical case presentations, an awareness rally, and a river-cleaning drive, reinforcing the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

The event was graced by Rajiv Mangal, Vice President, Safety, Health & Sustainability, Tata Steel; Amit Ranjan, Chief (Environment), TSL, Kishore Tar, Chief (Projects), TSL, Varun Bajaj, Chief, Town Infrastructure & Logistics, Raghu Ram, Sustainability expert, XLRI, Sanjeev Kumar Jha, general manager, Water and Wastewater Services, Tata Steel UISL and Raghunath Pandey, president, JUSCO Shramik Union.

Their presence highlighted the organization’s strong focus on water sustainability and responsible resource management.

The celebration began with sustainability practices showcase from TSUISL, expert panel discussion and case presentations where industry experts and stakeholders deliberated on critical water-related issues, including conservation strategies and sustainable water management.

An expert team from technical companies like Veolia and Gradiant also presented their insights and extended their support to Tata Steel UISL in successfully executing the event.

To further spread awareness, an awareness rally was organised, starting from Keenan Stadium and covering key areas across Jamshedpur.

Employees, volunteers, and community members actively participated, emphasizing the significance of water conservation.

A river cleaning drive was also conducted with the support of Swachhta Pukare, an organization dedicated to cleanliness and sustainability.

Volunteers enthusiastically contributed to cleaning the riverbanks, reinforcing collective responsibility towards protecting water bodies.
