Hyderabad, Dec 7: Anumula Revanth Reddy was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Telangana on Thursday, marking the first instance of a Congress leader assuming the role of Chief Minister in the country’s newest state.
At Hyderabad’s expansive Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan administered him the oath of office.
Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu took the oath of office as the state’s Deputy Chief Minister.
The 10 leaders who were sworn in as ministers were Uttam Kumar Reddy, Krishna Ponguleti, Seethakka, Ponnam Prabhakar, Sridhar Babu, Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Konda Surekhaa, Jupally, and Ponnam Raja Narasimha.

As the Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly Gaddam Prasad Kumar was also administered the oath of office by Governor Soundarajan.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Sonia Gandhi, the chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and his deputy DK Shivakumar, among others.
Telangana may designate up to 18 ministers, including the chief minister, based on the Assembly’s strength.
