Kulgam, Nov 17: In an ongoing gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, five terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba have been killed, Kashmir Police stated on Friday.

According to Kashmir police, the operation is in its last stages and the process of sanitizing the area is underway.

Nonetheless, sources stated that the operation is still ongoing.

The police earlier affirmed that the sustained heavy gunfire exchange between security forces and terrorists from across the border was still underway.

According to Jammu & Kashmir Police, the encounter started on Thursday afternoon in the Samno pocket in the DH Pora area of Kulgam district.

The 34 Rashtriya Riffles of the Army, the CRPF, the police and 9 Para—an elite special forces unit—are all involved in the coordinated operation against the terrorists.
