Srinagar, July 28: Under Operation Mahadev, security forces on Monday killed three terrorists in the Lidwas area near Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Three more are suspected to be injured. The Army spotted the bodies using drones.

The slain terrorists are said to belong to The Resistance Front (TRF), and one of them was identified as Lashkar commander Musa. Officials believe they may be linked to the recent Pahalgam attack.

The joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and the Army was carrying out a search operation when the terrorists opened fire. The forces retaliated, killing three militants.

The area is under cordon, and a search is still ongoing. Civilians have been asked to avoid the area and maintain calm.
Security agencies had earlier suspected TRF operatives were hiding in the region. TRF is the outfit believed to be behind the recent Pahalgam attack. In January, a TRF hideout was also destroyed in Dachigam forests.
