New Delhi, June 5: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Pinaki Misra recently got married in an intimate ceremony in Germany, though the couple has yet to issue any formal public statement.

The union brings together two prominent parliamentarians from eastern India — Moitra, who represents Krishnanagar in West Bengal, and Misra, the long-serving MP from Puri, Odisha.

Misra, born in 1959, is a veteran politician and senior Supreme Court advocate. A graduate in History from St. Stephen’s College and Law from Delhi University, he entered politics in 1996 with the Congress before aligning with the Biju Janata Dal, winning multiple terms from Puri as an MP.
Moitra, originally from Assam and born in 1974, transitioned from a successful career in investment banking to politics, joining the Trinamool Congress in 2010. She was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019 and retained her seat in the 2024 general elections.
The quiet nature of their ceremony has drawn attention, though both leaders remain silent publicly about their marriage.
