PINAKI MAJUMDAR
Jamshedpur, Sept 8: Athletes from the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) Sport Climbing Academy delivered a historic performance at the 29th IMF East Zone Sport Climbing Championship 2025, held from September 5 to 8 at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Historic Medal Haul
Out of 54 medals on offer in Lead, Speed, and Bouldering, TSAF climbers won 52 — including every gold medal.
Around 125 participants from Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha competed in the Sub Junior, Junior, and Open categories.

Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony was attended by Abhijit Avinash Nanoti, Managing Director of JCAPCPL, along with senior Tata Steel officials. They praised the young champions and encouraged them to aim for greater achievements at national and international levels.

Grassroots Support
JCAPCPL, the grassroots partner of TSAF Sport Climbing Academy, plays a key role in training and promoting young climbers through initiatives like Masti Ki Pathshala, where 300 children practice daily.
This collaboration has also enabled Jamshedpur to host major international events, including the IFSC Asian Kids and Youth Championships in recent years.
Road to Nationals
From this championship, 30 athletes qualified for the nationals — 29 of them from TSAF — further strengthening the academy’s reputation as a cradle for India’s future climbing stars.
