THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK
Patna, August 23: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav appears to be facing mounting legal troubles, with two FIRs registered against him within the past 24 hours.
The cases, filed in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, relate to a controversial social media post targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
First FIR in Maharashtra
The first FIR was registered in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli following a complaint by BJP MLA Milind Ramji Narote.

The legislator alleged that Tejashwi Yadav made derogatory and offensive remarks against the Prime Minister, which hurt public sentiments.
The Gadchiroli police booked Tejashwi under IPC Sections 196(1)(A)(B), 356(2)(3), 352, and 353(2).
Case in UP’s Shahjahanpur
A second case was lodged in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur on the complaint of BJP city president Shilpi Gupta at the Sadar Bazar police station.
Gupta claimed that Tejashwi’s remarks insulted the Prime Minister’s dignity and triggered widespread anger. She demanded strict action against him.
Controversial Post on PM’s Gaya Visit
The controversy stems from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Gaya, Bihar, on August 22. Following the visit, Tejashwi Yadav shared a cartoon on social media portraying the Prime Minister as a shopkeeper and mocking his rally as “Jumle Ji ki Dukaan” (the shop of empty promises).
