New Delhi, May 3: In a major push to boost grassroots sports infrastructure in remote regions, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday inaugurated a state-of-the-art multipurpose indoor hall in Arunachal Pradesh’s Kamle district, under the Khelo India initiative..

The facility, developed at a cost of ₹8 crore with Central funding, is equipped to support a range of indoor disciplines including boxing, badminton, judo, wushu, karate, taekwondo, weightlifting, table tennis, and volleyball.

The hall is expected to serve as a crucial training hub for aspiring athletes, allowing youth from the region to pursue professional sports and compete at national and international levels. State ministers Kento Jini and Nyato Dukam also attended the inaugural event.

Mandaviya, while interacting with young sportspersons and local youth, encouraged them to make full use of the facility and emphasized the role of fitness, sports, and discipline in daily life.

“Arunachal Pradesh has enormous sporting talent. With the right infrastructure, we aim to create pathways for youth to excel and contribute meaningfully to nation-building,” the minister said.
