Mumbai, Nov 15: The Hindi film industry bid farewell to veteran actress Kamini Kaushal on Saturday as her final rites were conducted at the Worli crematorium in Mumbai. The ceremony remained a quiet family affair, with her elder son, Vidhur, performing the traditional Hindu rituals.
Her mortal remains were brought from her residence earlier in the morning, and in a touching gesture, the family also brought along her pet dogs, who had been her constant companions.

Her very first film, Neecha Nagar (1946), directed by Chetan Anand, made global history by winning the Grand Prix at the inaugural Cannes Film Festival—the only Indian film to ever win the top honour.
