New Delhi, May 7: Voting is underway today for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Amid tight security arrangements, polling began at 7 am for 93 seats in 11 states, which will continue until 6 pm.

Notably, voting was supposed to take place on 94 seats in 11 states in the third phase. However, due to the uncontested election of the BJP’s sole candidate from the Surat seat in Gujarat, voting is not taking place there.

However, the election for the Anantnag-Rajouri seat has now been postponed to the sixth phase.

PM Modi casts his vote

Prime Minister Narendra Modi cast his vote at Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He also appealed to the general public to vote.

“Urging all those who are voting in today’s phase to vote in record numbers. Their active participation will certainly make the elections more vibrant,” PM Modi wrote on X.
