Jamshedpur, Jan 31: XLRI – Xavier School of Management has announced the GD and PI cutoffs for XAT 2026 following the release of scorecards, setting the eligibility benchmarks for its flagship PGDM programmes — Business Management (BM), Business Management–International Specialisation, and Human Resource Management (HRM).
The cutoff announcement marks a key stage in the admission process for thousands of management aspirants seeking entry into one of India’s top business schools.
Unified Cutoffs for BM and BM–International
For PGDM (BM) and PGDM (BM–International Specialisation), XLRI has kept identical overall percentile cutoffs and will conduct a unified GD–PI process.

- Engineer and non-engineer male candidates: 94 percentile overall
- Female and third-gender candidates: 88 percentile overall
Sectional cutoffs in Quantitative Ability, Verbal & Logical Ability, and Decision Making have also been prescribed to ensure balanced performance across aptitude areas.

Separate Thresholds for HRM Programme
For the PGDM (HRM) programme, the overall percentile cutoffs vary by academic background:
- Engineering male candidates: 92 percentile
- Non-engineering male candidates: 90 percentile
- Female and third-gender candidates: Lower prescribed thresholds across streams
The institute said the criteria reflect the programme’s focus on people leadership, ethics, and interpersonal capability while maintaining merit standards.
Up to 4,500 Candidates to Be Interviewed
XLRI expects to call around 4,000 to 4,500 candidates for the GD–PI round for the 2026–27 admission cycle. The final selection will be based on a multi-parameter evaluation including aptitude, communication, leadership potential, ethical judgment, and programme fit.
Admissions convenor Prof. Rahul K. Shukla said the goal is to select candidates who combine intellectual strength with character and social commitment.
