Dhanbad, February 20: Over 3000 assistant teachers (para teachers) of the state will likely get a new lease of life as the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has announced to review answers to assessment examination.

Jharkhand State Trained Assistant Teachers Association

JAC Secretary Sachidanand Tigga has, in this regard, written a letter to Jharkhand State Trained Assistant Teachers Association President Siddique Sheikh to submit facts of the alleged error in answer to the assessment examination with proof by February 29 so that it could be put up before experts.

The JAC conducted an assessment examination for Assistant Teachers on July 30, 2023. The examination result was published on September 28, 2023, in which 41,453 were declared passed. Over 48,000 Assistant Teachers appeared in it.

However, the Jharkhand State Trained Assistant Teachers Association protested with the JAC, pointing out that the answers to the JAC questions were wrong.

Finally, five months after the result publication, the JAC admitted that the answer was errorful and asked the Association to submit proof of the wrong answers on Monday.

Protest was genuine, says Siddique Sheikh

“Our protest was genuine. Over 3000 assistant teachers would benefit from this JAC decision,” claimed Siddique Sheikh.

Delay in honorarium payment

Meanwhile, 62,000 Assistant Teachers (Para Teachers) of the state have resented the inordinate delay in their honorarium payment.

Siddique Sheikh, president of the Jharkhand State Assistant Teachers Association, said that assistant teachers face sheer hardship due to the Jharkhand Education Project Council’s (JEPC’s) delay in honorarium payment.

“Earlier, JEPC released honorarium payment till the 5th day of the month, but now the same is paid only after the 20th of the month,” said Siddique Sheikh.
