Jamshedpur, Feb 20: The Department of English at XITE College in Gamharia (Seraikela-Kharsawan) recently organized a comprehensive session on Research Methodology focused on Humanities.

Sudipa Mukherjee, Assistant Professor from the Department of English at Netaji Subhas University, served as the resource person for the event.

Attendees included students from the Department of English at XITE College, along with distinguished guests: Fr. Mukti Clarence, Swati Singh, Prof. Stuti Rag, Prof. Anjali Jha and Prof. Akinchan Xaxa.

2-hour session

The two-hour session, held from 9:30 am aimed to equip participants with essential tools and techniques for conducting research in the humanities.

Mukherjee provided a comprehensive overview of research methodologies pertinent to the field, emphasizing their relevance and application in humanities research.

Key topics covered included literature review methodologies, qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, analysis techniques tailored to humanities research, and ethical considerations unique to the discipline.

Fostering collaborative learning in humanities research

Through engaging presentations and interactive discussions, participants gained valuable insights into the nuances of conducting research in the humanities.

The session fostered a collaborative environment where attendees had the opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions and share their experiences.

Mukherjee’s expertise coupled with the active participation of attendees enriched the learning experience, enabling a deeper understanding of research methodologies specific to humanities disciplines.

The session provided a platform for students and faculty to enhance their research skills and broaden their intellectual horizons.

Such initiatives underscore the college’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and fostering a culture of scholarly inquiry within the humanities domain.
