DPS Ranchi students shine in CBSE sports events

Ranchi, Nov 2: Exhibiting excellent athleticism like strength, fitness and agility, students of DPS Ranchi made their mark in the CBSE East Zone Chess Championship 2023, CBSE Cluster III Athletics Meet 2023 and CBSE East Zone Judo Championship 2023.

In the CBSE East Zone Chess Championship 2023 organised at Dr D Y Patil School, Patna, the under-14 girls’ team (Anima Thakur, Aadya Ranjan, Kyna Malhotra and Ananya Jhawar) emerged as Champions while under-19 girls’ team (Aditi Thakur, Vanya Maini, Aditi Raj and Sweta Bisoi) secured first runners up position. Anima Thakur, Aadya Ranjan, Kyna Malhotra and Aditi Raj also bagged “Board Prizes” as they defeated every opponent in their group. under-14 and under-19 girls’ teams also qualified for the National Level scheduled to be held at Noida in November.

In CBSE Cluster III Athletics Meet 2023 organised at Vikas Vidyalaya, Ranchi, Omkar Shreshtha secured the silver medal in the High Jump (Boys under-17 category) and a bronze medal in the Long Jump (boys under-17 category). Arshdip Singh bagged a silver medal in the Long Jump boys (under-19 Category). The group of Arshdip Singh, Manas Singh Rajput, Shreyash Vinay Maharaj & Sunil Xess secured the bronze medal in the 4 X 400 metre Relay Race. Also, Omkar Shreshtha and Arshdip Singh qualified for the National Level of this competition scheduled to be held at Chattisgarh in November.

In the CBSE East Zone Judo Championship 2023, Farhan Ahmad secured a bronze medal in the under-17 Boys (Below 81 kg weight category). The championship was held at Knowledge Gram International School, Patna.
