Ranchi, Feb 28: Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren today while addressing the 3rd convocation of Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) said that the state government is committed to taking the level of technical education in the state to a higher level.

While expressing gratitude to President of India Droupadi Murmu, Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Union Minister of State Annapurna Devi for attending the convocation of Central University of Jharkhand, chief minister Champai Soren said that the state government will play an important role in taking the Central University of Jharkhand at a desired height.

While recounting the achievements of Jharkhand in the education field, the chief minister said the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has already been implemented in the state and a four-year undergraduate course has been adopted in all the universities and colleges in Jharkhand. “Work is in full swing to promote multidisciplinary and employment-oriented education”, he said.

Champai Soren said compliance with various aspects of NEP like Multiple Entry-Multiple Exit, Academic Bank of Credits and others have been ensured. For enrolment in higher educational institutions of the state C.U.E.T. is being taken. Many schemes are being implemented in the state to develop infrastructure for high-level research work, promote innovation and start-ups and gradually increase the quality of teachers and students.

“The only Central University of Jharkhand, which came into existence on March 1, 2009, under the Central Universities Act, 2009, is a matter of pride for the people of Jharkhand. I came to know that the University is facing a land acquisition problem. In the first phase, 319 acres of non-cultivated land were transferred by the state government for the permanent campus. Apart from this, the state government has decided to acquire 139 acres of tenant land and give it to the Central University of Jharkhand. Out of this, an amount of approximately Rs 100 crore has been allocated for the acquisition of 15 acres”, he said.

While congratulating 800 graduates, masters and research scholars, who completed the course and got degrees, the chief minister said that this convocation ceremony is an important milestone in their educational development. This degree they have acquired is the result of their hard work and deep dedication. It is also a moment of pride for teachers, guides and parents.

“It is also time to get ready for the challenges that will shape your happy future. As you all know that there is no greater wealth than knowledge and cannot be. Only through this knowledge can you travel from material happiness to spiritual satisfaction”, he said.
