These agreements will conserve foreign exchange, improve domestic capabilities, and lessen future reliance on producers of equipment of foreign origins.

According to L&T Defence Executive Vice President Arun Ramchandani, the company signed two contracts to supply the Indian Air Force with equipment.

“The two contracts include a high-power radar which will be deployed at the different locations by the (Indian) Air Force for identifying aerial targets at very long distances. In addition, we have also signed a contract for the close-in weapon system. The close-in weapon systems are used to protect vital assets of the country,” Ramchandani stated.
