Jharkhand News: Tiger sighted in Garhwa, says Conservator

Daltonganj, March 10: Pug marks of a tiger were found in the forests of Garhwa. 

Garhwa Forest Conservator Dileep Kr Yadav told this correspondent today, “About three days ago, we discovered the pug marks of a male tiger in the Gobardaha forests.”

No report of any further kill

Yadav said, “Since this Friday, we have not been able to track it any more. There is no report of any further kill by this tiger other than the buffalo of a villager that it preyed on.”

Villagers have been advised to be careful about this lurking tiger, added Yadav. 

Camera trap of third tiger

Meanwhile, Field Director of the Palamu Tiger Reserve Kumar Ashutosh said, “Our camera trap recorded the image of our third tiger only yesterday, Saturday. This third tiger came last November. After some camera trappings, this third tiger from last November did not come to our camera traps. Finally, it came to the camera trap only this Saturday.”

Ashutosh said, “We have three tigers in the Palamu Tiger Reserve. Each of the three is having its kill. I can tell you only that tigers are in PTR, but their habitat or any other information regarding range, etc, can’t be shared for its safety reasons.”
