THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Daltonganj, April 3: The interstate border meet between the SP of Palamu in Jharkhand, and his Aurangabad counterpart in Bihar recently at Harihurganj paid a very rich dividend.

Palamu police nabbed a Jharkhand man, Pankaj Prajapati, 32, of Pipra police station limits in Palamu, who was to hand over seven poll boycott posters of the Maoists to another man, Rajinder Singh, in Bihar’s Aurangabad district.

Pankaj Prajapati of Jharkhand and Rajinder Singh of Bihar have two things in common: they were given Rs 1000 by Bihar’s Rajinder to make poll boycott posters on red fabric.

Although their villages are in two states, Jharkhand and Bihar, they are close. Again, their commonality is that both are supporters of Man Friday of the CPI Maoists.

Pankaj did it. He readied seven posters for a poll boycott. It was from the CPI Maoist.

Poll boycott posters

The poll boycott posters were seized very timely by the Jharkhand Palamu’s police.

Today, Pankaj was arrested and remanded in judicial custody in Daltonganj under various sections of the IPC, UAP and 17 CLA Act.

Aurangabad is to poll on April 19. These poll boycott posters were meant for this, but Palamu police nipped it in the bud.

Kudos to Jharkhand Special Branch and Palamu SP

On April 2, the Special Branch of Jharkhand tipped off Palamu police about Pankaj having poll boycott posters and to cross to Aurangabad to hand over these posters there to Rajinder Singh.

The Special Branch asked for devilish hurry and action on the part of the police as it had an alert that Pankaj would do a vanishing trick here and successfully hand over these poll boycott posters to Rajinder Singh.

SP Reeshma Ramesan responded to this alert with the same ferocity and speed. She asked the SDPO Chhaterpur Naushad Alam to deliver his best.

Time was the crucial factor. A strategy was drawn that suited the time. Any overdrive or underdrive on the part of the policeman was a watershed on the input/intelligence given by the Special Branch of Jharkhand.

SDPO Chhaterpur Naushad Alam and his team didn’t falter or fail. They got Pankaj and posters both.

Had there been any dilly dally, Pankaj could have proved to be an elfin fish. SDPO Chhaterpur Naushad Alam and his team caught him unawares.

Pankaj could have never thought of getting so overpowered by the police.

The Maoist poll boycott poster has the same narrative. Boycott polls. Establish Mazdoor and Kisan rule. Strengthen the revolutionary people’s committee. Put an end to corruption. Continue to claim and retain Jal, Jungle and Jameen. All these narratives to win over the sentiments of people with low incomes.

Maoists have a knack for making readable posters. It is pretty thoughtful, but at the same time, its hollowness and emptiness do come to the fore.

On being asked if these posters or identical posters for a poll boycott the Maoists could push in Palamu, which is to poll on May 13, SDPO Chhaterpur Naushad Alam said, “This seizure would make Maoists think twice before indulging in such aberration here in Palamu.”
