Surajpur, Nov 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress administration harshly on Tuesday, stating that terrorists and Naxalites get more courageous in the nation every time the Congress gains power.

During a rally in Chhattisgarh’s Surjapur district on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi stated that the Congress administration has been unsuccessful in controlling Naxalism within the state.

“Whenever Congress comes to power, the courage of terrorists and Naxalites increases in the country. The Congress government has failed to control Naxal violence. In recent times, many BJP workers have been taken away from us. A few days ago, one of our workers was shot dead,” PM Modi said.

Additionally, he stated that under Congress governance, drug trafficking and human trafficking are expanding in Chhattisgarh’s Surguja division.

“Our sisters and daughters are being targeted by criminals. Many girls from tribal families have gone missing. Congress leaders have no answer to this. Due to Congress’ policy of appeasement, it has become tough to celebrate festivals in the Surguja region of Chhattisgarh,” he said.

PM Modi continued his assault on Congress, alleging that the party attempted to prevent Droupadi Murmu from becoming India’s first tribal president.

“Did anyone think that a woman coming from ‘adivasi’ family could become India’s President. You can’t imagine how much Congress tried to stop (Droupadi Murmu from becoming the first Tribal President of India), but it was the BJP who ensured this honour to her”, he stated.

He also asserted that during the Congress’s tenure in the central government, they believed that dedicating funds for the Adivasis was a waste of money.

Prime Minister Modi went on to state that the BJP established Chhattisgarh with the motto “BJP ne banaya hai, BJP hi sawaregi” (BJP has formed and now we will only make things good in the state).

“Under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP formed Chhattisgarh. Today, the entire Chhattisgarh is saying, ‘BJP ne banaya hai, BJP hi sawaregi’,’ he added.

The first phase of voting for the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections is currently in progress. Chhattisgarh is holding its elections in two phases, with the second phase set for November 17. The vote count is slated for December 3.
