Jamshedpur, April 25: Trade union leader Rameshwar Pandey’s bodyguard was shot at and injured at Baradwari locality under the Sakchi thana area around Wednesday midnight.

Identified as Mukesh Tiwari, the gunshot victim has been admitted at the Tata Main Hospital with injuries in the abdomen and right thigh.

The one who shot at Mukesh Tiwari was identified as Manoj Jaiswal and has already been arrested.

Soon after the firing incident took place Sakchi thana OC, Sanjay Kumar Singh reached the spot followed by City SP, Mukesh Lunayat.

Police interrogating shooter, victim’s condition stable

The police are now trying to find out the reason behind the gunshot attack at midnight by interrogating Jaiswal who is a businessman.

The Sakchi thana OC said both Mukesh Tiwari and Manoj Jaiswal knew each other well and had met at a place in Baradwari where an altercation had broken between the two over something before Jaiswal had shot at Mukesh more than once.

“We are trying to find out the reason behind the gun-shot attack by interrogating Jaiswal. We are also trying to get a statement from the gunshot victim who is undergoing treatment at the Tata Main Hospital, ” said Singh while talking to The Jharkhand Story.

The police officer stated that the condition of the victim is stable.
