Paris, May 4: Underlining that there is no difference between good terrorism and bad terrorism, India said that online radicalisation is a significant challenge to global security.

The Indian delegation at the recently concluded 19th Interpol Conference of Heads of National Central Bureaus in Lyon, France was led by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Praveen Sood.

Sood here highlighted the challenges posed by the nexus between organised crime, terrorism and extremist ideologies.

Praveen Sood said that online radicalism is a significant challenge to global security. He categorically condemned all forms of terrorism. He said that no distinction can be made between “good terrorism and bad terrorism”.

According to a statement issued by the CBI, the event was attended by National Central Bureaus of 136 countries, represented by senior police officers.

The National Central Bureau (NCB) in each country is the nodal organization responsible for coordination with Interpol. In India, the CBI is designated as the NCB.

The aim of the conference was to strengthen cooperation between Interpol and NCB to deal with international crimes.
