New Delhi, May 7: Visa announced on Tuesday the appointment of Sujai Raina as the new country manager for India.
Raina will oversee the company’s operations in India, collaborating with clients and the payments ecosystem to drive and carry out Visa’s market-specific strategic initiatives.
According to the statement, he will continue to oversee Visa’s business development in India in addition to his duties as Country Manager.
Raina, who became part of Visa in 2020, previously held the position of Vice President and Head of Business Development for India.

“India’s growth trajectory, and the scale and sophistication of its payment systems, presents a significant opportunity for the continued growth of secure digital payments, driving cash displacement, financial inclusion and digital empowerment, at scale. I look forward to building on the strength of our brand and the trust we enjoy to power the next phase of Visa’s growth in India,” Raina stated.
In addition, Sandeep Ghosh will keep up his position as South Asia and India’s Group Country Manager. According to a statement from Visa, he would be in charge of operations in India as well as other subcontinental markets including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives.
