Sweety Verma told this correspondent “I appeal to our generation of boys and girls to exercise their fundamental right. It’s our prime responsibility to strengthen the fabric of the democracy.”

On being asked as to what was her issue of voting Sweety Verma said “Look, I am MA English. I did Honours in English. I am yet to get a good job commensurate with my educational qualifications. I feel bad. I do the writing. I work for a prestigious Hindi daily.”

Sweety Verma said, “I believe politicians and political parties must do something positive for the country. Politicians just sling mud on each other. This is no good. Let there be an atmosphere of positivism to develop India.”

Polling stations wore a festive look. There were colourful balloons. The circle officer Amardeep Walhotra and his team were found quite attentive to the job.

At booth number 205 Palamu Club voting started right at 7 dot. There were women from the presiding officer down to polling official number 4.

Here Amardeep Malhotra was supervising for the convenience of the voters. There came an 80-plus voter at this booth who was immediately offered a chair.

A middle-aged man was carted off in a wheelchair from the car to inside the booth. She cast her vote in all secrecy. End
