Jamshedpur, June 1: Heat wave conditions will prevail in north-western parts of Jharkhand today.
IMD Ranchi Meteorological Centre also predicted thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) at isolated places over north-eastern and southern parts of the state today.
A forecast of thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) is also likely at isolated places over north-eastern and southern parts of the state tomorrow.
A trough runs from cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh to west Bangladesh across southeast Uttar Pradesh and south Bihar, suggested today’s satellite pictures.

Monsoon Update
Conditions are favourable for further advancement of the Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of the central Arabian Sea, the remaining parts of the southeast Arabian Sea, the Lakshadweep area and Kerala and some parts of Karnataka.
It will also advance in some more parts of south Tamil Nadu, some
parts of Gulf of Manner, and some more parts southwest and central Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Northeast Bay of Bengal and Assam and Meghalaya and some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 2- 3 days.
