New Delhi, June 10: The Election Commission of India has released the schedule for by-elections to fill vacancies in 13 assembly constituencies across seven states.

The elections are scheduled for July 10, with the vote counting set to take place on July 13.

The commission will conduct by-elections for one seat each in Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh, two seats in Uttarakhand, three seats in Himachal Pradesh, and four seats in West Bengal.

The seats up for by-elections are Rupauli in Bihar, Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu, Amarwara (ST) in Madhya Pradesh, and Jalandhar West (SC) in Punjab.

By-elections will also take place for two seats in Uttarakhand – Badrinath and Manglaur, and for three seats in Himachal Pradesh – Dehra, Nalagarh, and Hamirpur.

Additionally, the by-elections in West Bengal will be held for the seats of Raiganj, Ranaghat Dakshin (SC), Maniktala, and Bagda (SC).

The final date for filing nominations is June 21, and candidates have until June 26 to withdraw their candidature.

The vacancies in the seats of Rupauli, Amarwara (ST), Jalandhar West (SC), Badrinath, Dehra, Nalagarh, Hamirpur, Raiganj, Ranaghat Dakshin (SC), and Bagda resulted from the resignation of the respective MLAs, while the vacancies in the seats of Vikravandi, Maniktala, and Manglaur were due to the demise of the respective MLAs.
