Jamshedpur, June 14: If the forecast of IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre is any indication, there will be no respite from the severe heat wave in Jharkhand for the next 48 hours.
The Met office issued a red alert in isolated areas today. It also issued a warning of Loo and extreme temperatures of around 45-46 degrees Celsius at some places.
Severe heat wave conditions would prevail at isolated places of north-western and south-eastern parts of the state today.

Monsoon Update
The Northern Limit of the Monsoon continues to pass through, Navsari, Jalgaon, Amravati, Chandrapur, Bijapur, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram, and Islampur.
Conditions are favourable for further advancement of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 3-4 days.
Synoptic Features
The east-west trough was today running from northwest Bihar to Nagaland across Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Assam at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
A cyclonic circulation over central parts of Bihar at 0.9 km above mean sea level has merged with the trough.
The trough in lower tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 1.5 km above mean sea level roughly along Long. 86°E to the north of Lat. 22°N persists.
