Policeman shot dead at home by unknown assailants in Lucknow

Lucknow, Nov 13: A 42-year-old policeman who was posted at the Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) was fatally shot at his residence late on Sunday night by unidentified attackers, according to a senior police official.

His family members rushed him to Lokbandhu Hospital, where doctors declared the policeman, Satish Kumar, who held a rank equivalent to that of an inspector, dead, the official stated.

According to Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Akash Kulhary, the event happened at approximately 2.30 am (on Monday) at Manas Nagar, which is under the Krishnanagar police station area.

Kulhary mentioned that the deceased, stationed in the fourth battalion of the PAC in Prayagraj, held the position of a quarter master, which is equivalent to that of an inspector.

Kulhari reported that Satish suffered three gunshot wounds, with one impacting his arm and the remaining two hitting his neck, causing serious injuries.

He said that to solve the case, five police teams had been formed.

Kulhari mentioned that the preliminary inquiry unveiled a family dispute, and he added that the police are examining all facets of the case.
