New Delhi, June 22: The Ministry of Education announced on Saturday the formation of a high-level committee of experts. This committee will focus on suggesting reforms for the examination process, enhancing data security protocols, and evaluating the operations of the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The decision comes in the midst of the controversy over the alleged paper leak in NEET UG and the subsequent cancellation and postponement of UGC NET 2024.

The 7-member committee, chaired by former ISRO Chairman Dr. K Radhakrishnan, has been tasked with delivering its report to the ministry within the next two months.

The committee includes six other members who are Dr. Randeep Guleria, former Director of AIIMS Delhi; Prof. B J Rao, Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Hyderabad; Prof. Ramamurthy K, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Madras; Pankaj Bansal, Co-Founder of People Strong and Board Member of Karmayogi Bharat; Prof. Aditya Mittal, Dean of Student Affairs at IIT Delhi; and Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The Ministry of Education stated that to ensure transparency, efficiency, and fairness in conducting examinations through the National Testing Agency (NTA), the Department of Higher Education has established a High-Level Committee of Experts.

This committee’s mandate is to propose reforms to the examination process, enhance data security protocols, and assess the structure and operations of the National Testing Agency, the ministry said.
