Jharkhand Weather: Normal monsoon forecast over state in next 48 hours

Jamshedpur, July 3:  Jharkhand would witness normal monsoon activity in the next 48 hours, said a bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre today.

According to weathermen, widespread light to moderate rain is expected in the next two days.

An alert of heavy rain was also issued for some places, especially in northeastern parts of the state.

Met statistics revealed that Bano in Simdega district recorded the highest rainfall of 108.2 mm in the past 24 hours while Simdega town recorded 83 mm

Kolebira and several other places too recorded heavy rain in the last 24 hours.

The trough from North Punjab to Mizoram was today running from northwest Bihar to south Assam across Himalayan West Bengal at 0.9 km above the mean sea level.

A cyclonic circulation lies over eastern Bihar and neighbourhood between 4.5 and 5.8 km above the mean sea level.

The southwest monsoon has covered the entire country on July 2 against the normal date of July 8, six days before the normal date.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level was passing through Firozpur, Rohtak, Hardoi, Ballia, Balurghat , Kailashshahar and thence towards Manipur.
