New Delhi, July 12: The Government of India has decided to observe June 25th every year as ‘Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas’ (Constitution Murder Day). The central government has issued a notification in this regard.
Home Minister Amit Shah posted on X that on June 25, 1975, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, displaying her dictatorial mindset, imposed an emergency in the country, strangling the soul of Indian democracy.
Amit Shah wrote that during the Emergency, lakhs of people were unjustly imprisoned and the media’s voice was suppressed.

He mentioned that the Government of India has decided to observe June 25th every year as ‘Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas’.
This day will commemorate the immense contributions of all those who endured the inhumane suffering of the Emergency in 1975.
