Ranchi, July 26: Acting Chief Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad today assured the State Bar Council to resolve the problems being faced by the lawyer fraternity across the State.
The acting CJ’s assurance came at a meeting held with 18 of the 23 members of the council at the high court.
Bar Council Chairman Rajendra Krishna submitted a charter of demands to Justice Prasad, giving details of many problems of the advocates of the State and the activities of the council and its problems.

The Acting CH, according to Rajendra Krishna, listened to their problems and promised to speak to the State government to resolve some of their problems, particularly a dignified sitting space for lawyers in the district courts.
Plea for space at new HC building
Krishna said that the acting CJ has been urged to allot a space for the State Bar Council in the new high court building.
The council members pointed out that the State Bar Council had been allotted office space at the old premises of the Jharkhand High Court.
“However, there has been no such allotment at the new premises of the High Court. The advocates from different district courts visit the high court for their casework. As there is no office of the Council at JHC, they have to travel to the current office which is problematic for the advocates from far-off districts,” they added.
Orientation for new lawyers at Judicial Academy
The Council members said there is no facility where the newly enrolled advocates could be imparted some training or guidance or where seminars could be organised. “As such, the State Bar Council has to either forego such effort or hire some facility,” they added.
So, the council requested the Acting CJ to grant permission to utilise some facilities in the Judicial Academy or JHALSA to organise such programmes.
