Ranchi, Aug.2: Civil Court advocate Gopal Krishna was stabbed to death under the Sukhdev Nagar police station area on Friday.
According to the information received, Krishna was standing near his Madhukam residence, when a person attacked him with a knife. Gopal Krishna, badly injured in the attack, was taken to RIMS for treatment, where the doctor declared him dead.
In protest against this attack, Ranchi District Bar Association General Secretary Sanjay Kumar Vidrohi called an emergency general meeting and expressed serious concern over the murder. Angry advocates decided to keep themselves away from judicial work on Friday afternoon.
Advocate General urges DGP to take action
Soon after the incident, Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan shot off a letter to DGP Anurag Gupta, urging him to arrest the assailants at the earliest.
Only son of the family
Advocate Basant Chandravanshi said that Gopal Krishna practised in the civil court for the last 24-25 years. There are elderly parents in the family. Father is ill. Krishna being the only son, the entire responsibility was on him. He is survived by two children.
