Dhanbad, Aug 8: The Dhanbad Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has rescued 10 children, including six minors, of Sonbhadra of Uttar Pradesh and Singrauli of Madhya Pradesh from human trafficking at Dhanbad railway station.

Dhanbad CWC Chairman Uttam Mukherjee after getting a tip-off conducted a raid at the Dhanbad railway station and with the help of Railway Child Line and RPF recovered 10 victims of human trafficking from platform no 1.
The human trafficker, who managed to escape from the spot, was all set to take away all of them boarding Shaktipunj Express before the CWC rescued them.

“Getting information about these minors, I duly alerted Vikash Kumar and Simpi Gupta of Railway Child Line who began searching for them at different platforms of the station. Finally, 10 of them were rescued at platform no. 1,” said Mukherjee.
They were forced to work more than 14 to 15 hours a day in the Jhalda area of the Purulia district of West Bengal
Six out of 10 were minors and four of them were majors.
CWC informs Dhanbad DLSA
The CWC chairman informed the secretary of the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Rakesh Roshan. Minor children were sent to Bokaro Bal Vikash Grih after a medical check while four others were set free to return home.
This is the first time the CWC Dhanbad has rescued 10 children together from human traffickers.
