Ranchi, August 17:  St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi, hosted the much-anticipated launch of the book ‘Newsprint to Heartprint: An Ingenious Odyssey of Harivansh in Prabhat Khabar’ at Fr CD Brouwer Auditorium.

The event, held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, drew the presence of notable academics, journalists, and media professionals from across the region.

The program commenced with a brief introduction by the event’s chair Dr. Harishwar Dayal, Dr. Nabor Lakra, S.J., Principal of St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi. Following this, the book was officially launched by the authors, Dr. Abhijit K. Chattoraj, Dr. Srinath Sridharan, and Saloni Sinha, who provided insights into the book’s creation and the journey of Harivansh in Prabhat Khabar. They provided insights into the making of the books, how it chronicles the inspiring journey of Harivansh within Prabhat Khabar.

They emphasized the book’s focus on leadership, ethical journalism and influence of religious press in religious issues.

A panel discussion followed, featuring esteemed participants such as B. K. Sinha, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science; Ravi Bajpai from the Department of History; Manoj Prasad, Senior Journalist; and Dr. Harishwar Dayal, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, all from St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi. The discussion was rich with insights, touching on various aspects of Harivansh’s leadership and the challenges faced by Prabhat Khabar in its journey.

In a special segment, Harivansh shared his experiences and the journey with Prabhat Khabar, shedding light on his leadership style and the critical issues faced by Jharkhand. He also spoke about Asha’s contributions and cherished memories from their shared journey.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Pradeep Kujur, S.J., Vice Principal of St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi. He expressed gratitude to all the guests, panellists, and attendees for their participation. The event was well-covered by journalists from print, electronic, and web portals, ensuring broad media coverage.

Notable attendees included Dr. Fr. Nabor Lakra, Fr. Rector, Fr. Arun, and Fr. Pradeep Kujur, along with the event’s distinguished panellists.
