Jamshedpur, August 28: Jamshedpur’s Bajrangnagar residents, who had been grappling with the issue of unmanaged garbage piling up on their streets, finally found relief through the initiative of social worker Shiv Shankar Singh.

The locality had been facing significant challenges due to a lack of proper garbage disposal, resulting in heaps of waste accumulating along the roadsides. The situation not only caused an unbearable stench but also posed a severe health risk, raising concerns about the potential spread of infectious diseases among the community.

JCB machine clears garbage

Moved by the plight of the local people, Shiv Shankar Singh took swift action. Responding to appeals from the residents, Singh arranged for a JCB machine to be deployed to the area to clear the garbage.

Understanding the urgency of the situation and the health implications for the community, Singh personally supervised the cleanup effort, demonstrating his commitment to the well-being of Bajrangnagar’s residents.

Upon arriving at the scene, Singh was visibly concerned about the extensive waste that had accumulated around the area. Addressing the gathered residents, he urged everyone to participate actively in maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings. “Do not spread garbage around you and inspire others also not to spread garbage,” Singh emphasized, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in keeping Bajrangnagar clean.

Cleanliness of Ganesh Puja venue

In addition to clearing the streets, Singh’s efforts extended to the Ganesh Puja venue in Bajrangnagar. Recognizing the cultural significance of this event and the need for a clean environment to conduct it, Singh arranged for the JCB machine to fill pits with soil and level the ground. The cleanup of the venue will facilitate a smooth and hygienic celebration of Ganesh Puja, much to the delight of the local residents.

The Swachhata Abhiyan, or cleanliness drive, spearheaded by Singh, did not stop there. Responding to requests from citizens in Cable Harijan Basti, Singh ensured that garbage in that area was also cleared with the help of an RTR JCB machine. This initiative was widely appreciated by the community members, who had long awaited such action.

The cleanup efforts saw the participation of several local residents, including Laxman, Vipin, Bharat, Bajrangi, and Shibu Mukhi, among others. Their presence and support underscored the collective desire for a cleaner, healthier living environment in Bajrangnagar.
